Our free-to-air broadcasting network, which includes Channels Nine, GO!, GEM and 9Life, is a leading television network across Australia with operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide as well as in regional Northern New South Wales and Darwin. The other regional markets in Australia are serviced by Nine’s affiliates.
Reaching 12.1m Australians each month, Mi9 includes premium content sites such as ninemsn and is the digital home of Channel Nine, 9Now. Mi9 also sells Microsoft’s suite of advertising products including Xbox, Skype, Outlook and Windows 8, whilst also leveraging their world leading technology, data, insights and innovation. Mi9 has investments in Pedestrian TV.
In January 2015, in joint venture with Fairfax Media, NEC launched Stan, an Australian Subscription Video-On-Demand service which brings an extensive library of both local and international content to its subscribers for just $10 per month.
Nine Ventures is Nine Entertainment Co.’s investment group with an emphasis on new, fast growing consumer facing businesses. Nine Ventures is currently responsible for:
- Ownership of 33% of the Australian News Channel, which is a three-way joint venture between NEC, Seven West Media and British Sky Broadcasting that owns and operates Sky News, a leading 24-hour news platform in Australia and New Zealand;
- Ownership of 17.8% of Yellow Brick Road, an ASX-listed, full service wealth management company that offers products and services for home loans, commercial loans, financial planning, insurance, superannuation, investments, accounting and tax.
- Ownership of a 30% stake in Literacy Planet, an online English literacy education business which reaches more than 85,000 students across Australia and abroad.
