    • David Haslingden
    • David Haslingden - Chairman - Independent Non Executive Director

      David Haslingden owns and operates a global network of television production companies comprising NHNZ, Beach House Productions and Northern Pictures. The group has operations in the United States, Asia Pacific and Europe producing a broad range of television shows, principally in the non-fiction genre.

      Previously, Mr. Haslingden was President and COO of Fox Networks Group (FNG). As the most senior executive of Fox’s network business, he was responsible for all Fox owned channels in the United States and around the World, including the Fox broadcast network, FX, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Fox Sports, Speed and Fuel in the United States, and all Fox, National Geographic, Star and other Fox owned channels in more than 50 countries. In aggregate FNG’s 250+ channels generated over 60% of News Corporations profits in 2012.

      Prior to his appointment as President and COO of FNG at the end of 2010, Mr. Haslingden was CEO of Fox International Channels. During the decade he ran this business it grew at an average annual CAGR of over 35% to become a significant profit driver for News Corporation as a whole. Mr. Haslingden also served as CEO of the National Geographic Channels business, a worldwide joint venture between News Corporation and the National Geographic Society.

      Mr. Haslingden has sat on a number of industry boards in the United States including the National Cable and Telecommunications Association. He is also Chairman of WildAid, a conservation organization based in San Francisco and Beijing that is one of the largest publishers of conservation directed media in China.

      Mr. Haslingden is 51 years old, attended Sydney and Cambridge Universities and lives in Sydney with his wife and two daughters.

    • David Gyngell - Chief Executive Officer

      Nine Entertainment Co., Nine Network
      One of Australia's most influential and experienced television executives, David Gyngell was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Nine Network Australia in September 2007.
      The appointment marked his return to the Nine Network from the United States, where he had been CEO of television production and distribution company Granada. Before moving to the US, he was the Nine Network’s CEO from May 2004 to May 2005 and prior to that he was Nine’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer – a role he held from August 2002.
      At the Nine Network, David presided over the creation of one of Australia’s highest rating programs ever, The Block, and also negotiated major sporting rights for the network.
      He has also worked as Executive Director, Group Marketing and Communications for Publishing & Broadcasting Limited.
      Before moving into television, David was Director of Corporate Management at International Management Group (IMG) and Transworld Media International.
      David has also held several directorships in a range of high profile companies.

    • Peter Costello - Independent Non-Executive Director

      Peter Costello served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1990 to 2009 and was Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia from March 1996 to December 2007. He served as Chair of the APEC Finance Ministers in 2007 and Chair of the G20 in 2006. He was a committee member of the International Monetary Fund, a Governor of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for approximately 10 years. He currently serves on an Independent Advisory Board to the World Bank. Prior to entering Parliament, Mr Costello was a practising barrister. In 2011 he was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service to the Parliament of Australia, particularly through the development of landmark economic policy reforms and representative roles with global financial organisations.

    • Kevin Crowe – Non Executive Director

      Mr. Crowe is a Principal at Apollo Management, an alternative investment manager with approximately US$113 billion of assets under management. Apollo is a contrarian, value-oriented investor focused on complex equity investments, leveraged buyouts, and credit oriented investments.

      Mr. Crowe joined the firm’s New York office in 2006, and in 2011, Mr. Crowe relocated to Hong Kong to focus on Apollo’s private equity activities throughout Asia Pacific. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of [Nine Entertainment Co.], Norwegian Cruise Lines, Prestige Cruise Holdings and Quality Distribution.

      Prior to joining Apollo, Mr. Crowe was a member of the Financial Sponsors group in the Global Banking department of Deutsche Bank Securities. Mr. Crowe graduated from Princeton University with an AB in Economics and a certificate in Finance.

    • Edgar Lee – Non Executive Director

      Prior to joining Oaktree in 2007, Mr. Lee worked in the TMT Investment Banking division at UBS Investment Bank in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for advising clients on a number of debt and preferred stock restructurings, leveraged financings, buy-side and sell-side M&A, mezzanine financings and recapitalizations. Before that, he was an Associate in the Fixed Income Division at Lehman Brothers Inc. Prior experience includes work at Katzenbach Partners LLP and Urban Institute. Mr. Lee received a B.A. degree in Economics from Swarthmore College and an M.P.P. with a concentration in Applied Economics from Harvard University.

    • Hugh Marks – Independent Non Executive Director

      Hugh Marks is the CEO of Media Venture Partners which is an investment and project development business focused on innovation in the content and distribution industries.

      Prior to starting up this business Hugh was the CEO of the Southern Star Group. Southern Star Group includes Southern Star Entertainment, Southern Star Entertainment (UK) and Southern Star International. Southern Star International is the distribution and rights business of Southern Star run from offices in Sydney, London, Paris and Los Angeles responsible for the international exploitation of a program library of over 14,000 hours.

      In October 2002 to August 2005, Hugh was the CEO of Southern Star Entertainment a division within the Southern Star Group responsible for film, video and television production before being promoted to the CEO of Southern Star Group.

      Hugh worked with the Nine Network Australia as Legal Counsel and then as Director of Nine Films & Television for seven years.

      Hugh is a lawyer by profession and was a Senior Associate with Mallesons Stephen Jacques and has 18 years’ experience as a Senior Executive in Content Production and Broadcasting in Australia and Internationally.

      Before joining the Board of Nine Entertainment Co, Hugh was an Authority Member for the Australian Communications and Media Authority for over 2 years.

    • Steve Martinez – Non Executive Director

      Mr. Martinez is a Senior Partner and Head of Asia Pacific Private Equity for Apollo Management, an alternative investment manager with approximately US$113 billion of assets under management. Apollo is a contrarian, value-oriented investor focused on complex equity investments, leveraged buyouts, and credit oriented investments.

      Mr. Martinez joined the firm in 2000 and during his tenure has led investments in a variety of sectors including shipping, leisure, media and general industrial. In 2011, Mr. Martinez relocated from New York to Hong Kong, with responsibility for expanding throughout Asia the Firm’s private equity practice and helping integrate the Firm’s other global investment platforms in real estate, capital markets and marketing.

      He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Norwegian Cruise Lines, Prestige Cruises, Veritable Maritime, and Rexnord Industries. He previously served as a director of Allied Waste, Goodman Global, Hayes-Lemmerz International, Hughes Telematics, and Jacuzzi Brands.

      Prior to joining Apollo, Mr. Martinez was a member of the mergers and acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs & Co. Before that he worked in Asia at Bain & Company. Mr. Martinez received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA and BS from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School, respectively.

    • Joe Pollard - Independent Non-Executive Director

      Joe Pollard began her career over 29 years ago working for J. Walter Thompson Advertising in Sydney as a Media Planner. She also worked in the London and Hong Kong offices becoming a Media Director in 1992.

      From 1996 to 2004, Joe worked for Nike Inc in the United States where she held the position of Global Director of Media, Digital and Content. Joe managed Nike’s media investments on a global basis, ran Nike’s digital efforts through nike.com and established their branded content division. In 2004, she transferred to Nike Japan as Marketing Director to manage Brand Strategy, Sports Marketing Advertising, Corporate Communications, Digital and Retail Marketing.

      In 2006, Joe returned home to Australia and joined PBL Media, now Nine Entertainment Co., the largest integrated media company in Australia. As Sales and Marketing Director for the group, Joe was responsible for both functions across Nine Network, ACP Magazines, Ticketek and ninemsn as well as expanding PBL Media services into integrated marketing solutions.

      From 2008 to September 2011, Joe was appointed CEO of ninemsn, a joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co and Microsoft. With over 400 employees based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth & Auckland, ninemsn is Australia’s largest online publisher. Joe also served as a board member for ninemsn, ISelect, IAB, AANA and the ABCN (Australian Business Community Network). After a 9-month career break, Joe joined Publicis Mojo Australia as CEO.

    • Rajath Shourie – Non-Executive Director

      Mr Shourie is a Managing Director and co-portfolio manager in Oaktree's Distressed Debt group. Mr Shourie contributes to the analysis, portfolio construction and management of the Distressed Debt, Value Opportunities and Strategic Credit funds. Since joining Oaktree in 2002, Mr. Shourie has spent his time investing in distressed debt. He has invested in the airline/aircraft industry for a number of years, and led the firm's investments in financial institutions during the global financial crisis. Mr. Shourie has worked with a number of Oaktree's portfolio companies, and currently serves on the boards of Taylor Morrison (largest private homebuilder in North America) and STORE Capital (specialty REIT). He has been active on a number of creditors' committees, including the steering committee in the restructuring of CIT Group. Prior to joining Oaktree, he was an Associate in the Principal Investment Area at Goldman, Sachs & Co., and a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. Mr. Shourie earned a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to receive an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
